Does it Really Work? - Handy Switch

The Handy Switch promises to control any lamp from any part of the room.

So what better way to test it out, than with a 3 year old?

Infomercial: "Are you fed up with trying to find a lamp switch in a dark room?"

Billy Mays is back yet again trying to sell you the Handy Switch.

Angie Smith has seen Billy try to sell other products featured in "Does It Really Work," so obviously, she's a bit skeptical.

"You just don't know sometimes how if it's gonna work or not," says Angie Smith.

We borrowed Brynnlee's room to try out the Switch.

We plugged the lamp into the receiver, then into the wall. The switch was placed next to Brynnlee's bed. And.. It works!

"She seems to like it," says Angie.

In the infomercial, there's a shot of a switch in a car...

"It would be nice to have some light on as you come in," says Angie.

The light came on, with the wireless signal being sent from Angie's driveway.

For our final test, we wanted to know if it really works up to 60 feet.

Using my size 12 shoes, I counted off 20 yards.

Let's give it a shot.

"And it's on. It turned on 60 feet. It works," says Tommy Noel.

All 3 tests past with flying colors.

"We went outside, went through the wall, the car. So it's gone through everything it possibly could," says Angie.

But how will it do on our Spud-o-Meter?

"I would probably go about a 5. I really like it," says Angie.

That was our very first "5" on our Spud-O-Meter.

We picked up the Handy Switch at Linen's 'N' Things for $14.99.
