Does it Work? - Mighty Putty

A lot of people asked me about Mighty Putty. So, I saved the best request for last.

Dami Page had a couple things she wanted to fix with the putty.

"Dents in walls and floorboard. A drawer that's broken. I'm real interested to see if it works," says Dami Page.

At the same time, we wanted to copy some of the experiments in the infomercial.

Dami's three boys were very eager to help out with this unique new product.

"Cut a slice off like we saw on the box," says Dami.

According to the directions, you knead the putty until it turns white.

Our first job. The broken drawer.

"So we probably put some in there and in these parts," says Dami.

But Dami's first impressions of the Mighty Putty quickly went downhill.

"It's all kinda falling apart," says Dami.

After securing the drawer, we let it sit for 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, we tried to put a broken handle back on a coffee mug. But gave up very quickly.

"There's no tackiness to it," says Dami.

Next up, a dent in the kid's bedroom wall.

"See, that looks like it's gonna work pretty good. I can sand it and paint it over," says Dami.

The leaky cup experiment also had positive results.

"It's not leaking, is it," says Dami.

Back to the drawer. The first few pulls were fine, but when mom applied a tad more force...

"I don't see this working. Once I put a little pressure on it, which I know will end up happening, it just came right off," says Dami.

Now the leaky cup experiment was the most impressive...

"So that's the only thing we're gonna buy it for" says Dami's son.

However.. Mom was a little more realistic.

"It didn't work on anything that I needed for it to work on, except for the dent on the wall," says Dami.

And for that reason, when I asked Dami to rate it on our spud meter.

"Mighty Putty.. One potato," says Dami.
