Our friend Billy Mays is back yet again. This time trying to sell you the Hercules Hook.

"It would be great for hanging a picture, stuff like that. Light stuff," says Shane Talbot.

We asked Shane Talbot of BMC West to test the hook.

Infomercial: "You just push, set, and hang."

"How was that? Was it pretty easy," asks Tommy Noel. "Pretty easy," replies Shane.

And let's start off with some easy items to hang on the wall.

A clock. The mug of Sports Director Ted Dawson. A mirror. And a large picture.

"It's holding up pretty well. Yep," says Shane.

So far so good.

Thanks to the special wall BMC West built for us, you can see how the hook works. It goes through the drywall, then braces itself to the back.

Infomercial: "...holds up to 150 pounds."

Here comes the fun part. Using weights, we tried to hang 20 pounds- Yes. 40 pounds- Yes. 50 pounds- No.

"Wow. That just tore right through that drywall," says Shane.

In fact at 50 pounds, the hook flew out of the wall and almost hit our photographer.

"Once we got over 40 pounds. It was pulling them out pretty easy," says Shane.

But the infomercial promises 150 pounds. So we added a second hook and the weighs came crashing down.

"It pulled them out real fast," says Shane.

But Shane is still pretty sold on the Hercules Hook.

"I would probably still buy them for pictures on the wall. I wouldn't be hanging up heavy mirrors with them," says Shane.

After disastrous results with the Twin Draft Guard on the Spud Meter, let's hope for something a little better today.

"What would you give the Hercules Hook," asks Tommy. "A 3 [out of 5], says Shane.
