Chubbuck veterinarian offering free exams to low income families
CHUBBUCK - Dozens of dogs and cats got free veterinary care Wednesday, and for some it was the first time.

The Bannock Animal Medical Center offered a free exam if pet owners make less than $30,000.

The goal is to make sure animals have the chance to get treatment regardless of finances.

Turnout has been great. Dr. Walter Rowntree, with the Bannock Animal Medical Center said, "I saw a cat this morning that had ear mites for years. The people knew the cat had a problem, didn't know what it was, but knew that it's ears bother it. And we were able to send treatment with that."

Other animals have gotten long overdue dental work done.

Doctors hope to make this a regular event.

Wind Farms

The wind turbines lining the foothills east of Idaho Falls are getting a lot of attention. What do you think about the wind farms?

  • They're too close to residential areas and they're lowering property values. They're ruining the view. Build them somewhere else!
  • They provide clean energy, and they generate local jobs and tax revenue. They're the wave of the future. Welcome to town!
  • Not sure.
