Internet safety just got "fun"
REXBURG - There are currently 260-million pages of porn on the world wide web. Some say no big deal, but members of the Rexburg community are speaking up.

Craig Kobia has held numerous anti-porn conferences across Eastern Idaho. But to engage everybody on the subject is a little tricky. That's where a Volkswagen-limousine comes in handy.

Admittedly there isn't much in common between Internet Safety and a vintage limo-bug. But Kobia has learned to take every opportunity, whether it's anti-porn conferences or a limo-bug, -to bring up the touchy subject.

"The voice is being carried out to more people gradually that pornography and internet predatory activity is a risk. You can get on practically any TV set and get pornography. Most computers are not filtered. Any device, a hand held, a cell phone that has a data plan, i-phones, they don't have any filters that I know of. Any person, child, adult, can gain access to illegal pornographic material with a few clicks," said Kobia.

One way the limo-bug will help promote internet safety is by giving free rides to the public. Starting in April anybody can text BBUG to 53535 for a chance to win.

"Nobody likes to really talk about internet pornography or internet pornography in general. The limo-bug itself is really fun. It turns heads, I think the youth want something that is fun," said Craig Kobia.

"If you guys weren't doing this, you'd be in classrooms lecturing right?" I asked.

"Probably," answered Kobia.

The next anti-porn conference will be held May 22nd.

It will visit Pocatello, Idaho Falls, and Rexburg.

Wind Farms

The wind turbines lining the foothills east of Idaho Falls are getting a lot of attention. What do you think about the wind farms?

  • They're too close to residential areas and they're lowering property values. They're ruining the view. Build them somewhere else!
  • They provide clean energy, and they generate local jobs and tax revenue. They're the wave of the future. Welcome to town!
  • Not sure.
