Oregon man arrested for trafficking marijuana in Bannock County
POCATELLO - A traffic stop on Highway 30 near Fish Creek Summit sends an Oregon man to jail.

Gerald Pitts is charged with felony trafficking after Bannock County Sheriff's Deputies allegedly discovered a little more than a pound of marijuana in his truck.

Along with the drugs, an H&K .44 handgun and three knives were also seized.

The bust is worth about $5,000.

The arrest is part of an on-going effort to cut down on drugs sales in the area. Lorin Nielsen, Bannock County Sheriff said, "We've got to stop it. We've got to hit at every angel that we can. And where we're on the road anyway, and we're out enforcing violations why don't we start looking for this type of stuff? And the officers are trained in that."

Deputies are investigating where the drugs came from and where they were headed.

Pitts is not cooperating with law enforcement.
