IDAHO FALLS - 75 eighth grade female students put on their gloves and goggles and got to have some fun in the science lab.
Wednesday was the 3rd annual 'Amazing Futures in Science and Technology' event hosted by the Idaho National Laboratory.
The girls attended hands-on workshops and demonstrations focused on different areas of science. The event was designed to showcase career and education opportunities in math, science, technology, and engineering. The INL's goal is to create a fun and fascinating science experience.
Crystal Resendiz from Eagle Rock Junior High attended the event, she said, "Its been really cool. I've been learning a lot of things that I thought would be most boring but I guess. I like it even more than I used to.
This year, the INL invited students from Twin Falls and Idaho Falls areas, but next year they hope to expand to other areas.
