Weight loss isn't always easy- but these gym goers- aren't only dropping the pounds for themselves, they're doing it for these guys.

"I just think it's really important, because we forget about our own health, we too worried about all the animals health and it's just a good experience to take care of ourselves now too," says veterinary assistant Hailey Edwards.

Puppies at Pocatello's Portneuf Animal Welfare Society need food. So they're friends at Blackfoot's Animal Health clinic are donating five pounds of dog food for every pound the clinicians lose.

"They do it based on body fat percentage, so some of our tinier technicians who are in a whole lot better shape than myself have just as about a good a chance of winning it as anybody else," says veterinarian Dr. Jason Moulton.

Fortunately Gold's Gym is just minutes away from the animal clinic and that's where the clinic's staff can sneak out on their lunch break and get ahead of the competition.

"Now I go every night after work," says Edwards.

"You're helping, more than just you, you're helping these people that need dog food for their, we're donating all this dog food that we are getting per pound, so it just makes you feel better that you're helping others and not just yourself," says veterinary assistant Justine Twitchell.

On top of their motivation to drop as many pounds as possible for the animals, they have a little extra incentive.

"We at the Animal Health Clinic will buy a computer for the one who loses the most weight," explains Moulton.

All you have to do is stop by the animal clinic and offer some words of encouragement to the hard- working employees and you'll receive 10 percent off on your pet's exam that day.
