BONNEVILLE COUNTY - Football is clearly America's game, and if you've seen the game-time ads and crazy in-store displays you know that football season is almost over. That means retailers are giving out their best deals for the kick-off.
"People want the big TV to watch the big game on, and that's what this time is all about, moving these big TVs at great prices," says Merlin TV's manager, Steven Strictland. "It's one of these last retail opportunities for us."
Superbowl excitement gives stores one last push to make a real profit after the holidays and before the summer rolls around. Merlin's TV sees it as another Santa Clause opportunity.
"We are giving away a 42 inch TV. You come in and click on our 42 inch TV giveaway for the Superbowl and sign up to win, and that's all you have to do to win the 42 inch TV."
Saints fan, Jake Pearson, plans to mooch off his best friend during the game!
"He's going to be watching the game on his new 52 inch LED TV for the Superbowl. And we're going to have a party at his house," he says.
Football fanatics everywhere won't fumble on any grocery store deals. This year, the aisles are packed with party host shoppers.
"We are buying our pop and our munchies. We got chips. We're making homemade chili, having our friends over," says football fan and party host, Lisa Clements.
Maybe you're not a big party planner, but you'll want to hit up some of the local bars. They've got food specials, beer specials, and even some prize giveaways.
Fanatics Sports Grill is raffling off a Harley Davidson coffee table!
But if you do stay at home and want to have some catering, the Sandwich Tree will keep it's doors open, something they never do on a Sunday.
"Because we are going to be really busy and we probably have 30 sandwiches to do that are seven-feet long!" says Sandwich Tree employee, Jamie Harris.
