IDAHO FALLS - A local club known for their love of cars made a hefty donation to the Idaho Falls Food Bank.

Representatives from the Corvettes of Southeast Idaho handed over a check for $3,000 to the Food Bank.

The club actually passed out $6,000 in donations, with money split between the Idaho Falls, Pocatello and Rexburg Food Banks.

"Timing couldn't have been more perfect. With all the information that's been on the news on the Food Bank this week, needing stuff. Like I said, it was perfect timing for us for us to be here on Black Friday," says Doug Evancic, Corvettes of Southeast Idaho.

Folks at the Food Bank keep an eye on sales at local grocery stores and will use the money accordingly.

Just this month, the Idaho Falls Food Bank will feed over 700 families.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
