POCATELLO - Hundreds of people turned out for the first 5K Turkey Trot Thursday morning.

The registration cost is just a donation to the United Way.

Runners can even designate which non-profit group the money will go to.

Organizers are excited to see the response, and plan to make the run an annual event. Robin Nelson, with the United Way said, "We're absolutely thrilled, and amazed, and delighted that so many people want to come out and walk, and run and just get together with their family, and have a little bit of exercise before they pig out on their Thanksgiving dinner."

Afterward runners were entered drawing for raffle prizes, and they burned off a few calories before Thursday's big dinner.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
