IDAHO FALLS - If you are one of the thousands of Idahoans traveling this Thanksgiving, you'll have plenty of company.

Holiday travel will be crowded this Thanksgiving weekend. Despite the economy, the number of Idahoans traveling will be up slightly from last year.

AAA projects that 38.4 million people will travel more than 50 miles from home over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Those flying out of Idaho Falls should expect a lot of traffic. Flights are sold out and some are even over sold.

In Pocatello, the airport will have 18 percent less volume from last year. The $160 dollar mark up has forced many travelers to different airports.

However, many travelers aren't flying this year they're driving.


Drivers are paying quite a bit more now to fill up than they were just a year ago.

Gas in our area is going for $2.53 a gallon right now.

Last year at this time it cost $1.92. That's a 62-cent increase.

Whether you're driving or flying be sure to pack a little extra patience allow for plenty extra time.
