POCATELLO - A marine is home with his family for the next two weeks.

LCPL Rick Mikesell was shocked to see so many people waiting when he walked off the plane.

He has spent time in Iraq, and expects to be deployed again next year.

While he's home he plans to reconnect with his family, and he'll teach a Mideast culture class. LCPL Rick Mikesell said, "I don't really feel like I deserve this. When I think of the things I've done I don't see myself deserving this, but apparently others think I do."

Mikesell is a 2007 graduate from Highland High School.

He joined the marines to add more structure to his life.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
