POCATELLO - Hundreds of kids from local high schools are getting experience running a country.

222 kids on dozens of different teams competed at Idaho State University in the International Economic Summit.

The program teaches kids about international trade, the formation of alliances, and gives them a chance to debate global issues.

A $3,000 award from US Bank is paying for all the fees so that more people can attend. Janaan Haskell, Field Director for the Center for Economic Education said, "They actually fill most all of the Idaho standards in economics, and international economics here with just this, plus many other content areas."

Students were from Blackfoot, Ririe, Soda Springs, Westside, and Highland High School.
