"I don't need these animals, but they need me," says animal rights activist Andi Elliott.

Eighteen dogs, and not one unhappy mug. Andi Elliott sits on the Upper Valley Humane Society Board. Not only does she travel to rescue other mistreated animals, she has entire backyard filled with saved pets.

"Animals are my passion and they need a lot of help, there is a lot of indifference out here, a lot of neglect, a lot of unintentional cruelty, and then you just have the situations where people are just plain mean to them," says Elliott.

Andi has been living in Idaho the last eight years; and has rescued hundreds of animals. Her mission in life began at the young age of five.

"I would be riding my bicycle down the road and have six or eight neighbors dogs following me it's just like they have always been attracted to me."

She spent the last 6 years working for HSUV- and recently developed her own foundation called, For the Love of Pets.

"This is what we do up here, we gravitate towards special needs pets though I help anything I can."

Two and half years ago Jackson Animal Adoption called Andi to help Timmy- a poorly bred pomeranian.

"He had been tied to a lamp post over in Jackson and abandoned and they had gone to quite a bit of trouble to find out who he belonged to but no word."

Without anyone coming forth, Andy took Timmy home.

"He loves to run and play he's a happy little boy."

Not only does Andi clean up after the animals, she also checks their ears and brushes their teeth, once a week and Georgy here is getting some chicken flavored tooth paste.

"Oh they need their teeth cleaned to prevent heart, kidney, liver disease just like humans get."

Andi's biggest message... She wants pet owners to spay and neuter. Every year she euthanizes 5,000 animals in the valley because people fail to alter their four-legged companions.
