New K9 being trained for Chubbuck Police
By Wes Horrocks
CHUBBUCK - The police department is training a new K9.
Friday, the dog worked on open area searches trying to find a suspect who was hiding in a tree. The dog was kept in a muzzle because he is only about two-thirds of the way through training. Officers train with their dog 10 hours a day, four days a week, which creates a close bond. Deputy Clint Brown, a Training Instructor and K9 Handler with the Bannock County Sheriff's Office said, "It's a tremendous investment of your time, and your energy, a tremendous devotion. If you didn't get into this because you loved it, you would hate it." In Chubbuck and Bannock County it's common for K9's to be used daily. |
