Gay Group to Visit BYU-Idaho

By Nate Eaton

A gay-rights group plans on visiting BYU-Idaho as part of a nationwide college tour.

Soulforce Equality Ride will stop in Rexburg for two days in April.

The group says the university discriminates against homosexuals and that's why it's coming.

Today, BYU-Idaho students expressed their feelings about the visit.

Noemi Morales, BYU-Idaho Student: "[It's] kind of ridiculous. If they're just looking for attention, I'm sure they're gonna get it but it's pretty much all they're gonna get. No one's gonna appreciate what they're doing."

Erik Malin, BYU-Idaho Student: "I don't think that they'll accomplish much by coming here. I don't think they're not gonna change anyones opinion."

Last year Soulforce visited BYU in Provo where 29 people were arrested.

The group will visit that campus again in March.
