UCON - Police have finally cracked the case for a new string of burglaries in Bonneville County.

Joe Dee Stang is being held accountable for four burglaries in the past few weeks and was finally caught in front of where he was staying.

A burglary Tuesday morning at the Ucon Post Office led police to a car right across the street. They investigated the trail of money and smashed car parts on the ground and realized the Hyundai was involved with three other burglaries. Police knocked on the door of the house and caught Stang with evidence from each crime scene.

"A lot of these things happen because of course the economic turn down and people get desperate, but then of course, I think a lot of it is because of the drug problem we have here," says Sgt. James Foster, with Bonneville County Sheriff's Office.

Stang is charged with two counts of burglary and one count of vandalism.

The investigation continues.
