SODA SPRINGS - Nine-hundred planned layoffs wont have much impact on Southeast Idaho.

Monsanto is based in St.Louis, but employs more than 700 workers in Southeastern Idaho, with a plant in Soda Springs and mining operations around the region.

The spokesperson for the company says a small number of local jobs may be lost through attrition, but the company doesn't expect any layoffs in the Gem State.
