LAVA HOT SPRINGS - Several protesters gathered in front of the Swimming Complex in Lava Hot Springs Saturday.

They're upset that a same-sex couple was denied a family discount at the pool earlier this month.

Employees didn't feel that they met the policy which states a family is one dad, one mom and children. Steven Saltzman, a Protester said, "Obviously the full goal eventually would be equal rights for everybody throughout the nation, but you gotta start small."

Protesters also encouraged people to sign a petition asking the Lava Hot Springs Foundation to change their policy.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
