AMMON - Some scary moments at the Ammon Texas Roadhouse as a fire in a dumpster gets very close to the building.

Crews from the Ucon and Ammon Fire Departments arrived on scene around 8:30 Monday morning.

The fire in the dumpster was quickly put out, but re-ignited several times.

Fire crews on scene tell Eyewitness News there was exterior damage and some minor interior damage. As of 9am, the Ammon Fire Marshall was on scene assessing the damage both outside and inside.

No word yet on the cause or amount damaged.

Ammon's Fire Marshall says some electrial wiring was affected and if it's brought back to code, the restaurant will be open for business Monday afternoon.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
