CHUBBUCK - Hundreds of people turned out in support of a Chubbuck soldier killed in a helicopter accident last week.

Gray skies were a fitting background as the body of Chief Warrant Officer Two, Jonathan Bryce Millward, was unloaded from a plane. LaNae Dye, Bryce's Mom said, "We're a close family, and it's been rough."

Friends watching the honor guard on the tarmac are still in shock that the 28-year-old musician they knew so well is gone. Chris Neilsen, one of Bryce's friends said, "Everybody was a friend of Bryce even if he didn't know you."

Josh Stuart, who knew Bryce since middle school said, "I thought I was one of Bryce's best friends, and it wasn't until this happened that I realized everybody felt that way."

Bryce's parents aren't surprised by his friends remarks. Dennis Dye, Bryce's Dad said, "When they left his presence they left with something."

And it wasn't just friends who were touched. Community members lined the streets during the lengthy procession waving flags in Bryce's honor. Dennis said, "He would have been thrilled with the response of these great people."

LaNae said, "He was a great kid. It was a privilege to be his Mom and Dad. We had some fun times with Bryce."

And to ensure that those fun times aren't forgotten websites, and Facebook pages have been created in Bryce's memory. Stuart said, "I'm just so grateful that we get to know him. That kid did more in 28 years than we'll probably do in our whole lives."

A public viewing for Bryce is scheduled for Sunday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Wilk's Funeral Home.

His funeral will be Monday, June 8th at the University Stake Center in Pocatello at 11 a.m.
