COTTAGE GROVE, OR - The man who allegedly robbed Ireland Bank in Inkom last Monday is now in custody.

32-year-old Melvin Jay Hebdon was taken into custody after a short high-speed chase in Oregon on Friday.

Along with charges for robbing Ireland Bank, Hebdon is also charged in a bank robbery case in California and eluding police officers in Oregon.

The Bannock County Sheriff's office found Hebdon with the help of several tips. He has at least 7 known aliases and is a registered sex offender from Idaho Falls.

He will be extradited to Idaho to face the robbery charges after going to court in Oregon. He is cooperating with the investigation.
