TETON COUNTY - Five drivers from Idaho Falls, Driggs, Victor and Montana were involved in a multi-vehicle crash just west of Tetonia Tuesday afternoon.

It all started when a white SUV stopped on the highway blocking both lanes of travel. While attempting to assist, people were standing in the roadway causing a hazard for other motorists. That's when a tan Taurus traveling east on Highway 33 couldn't come to a stop and went into a snowbank.

That set off a chain of events with four other vehicles crashing in both directions.

One driver and a passenger from the tan Taurus were taken to Teton Valley hospital with unknown injuries. According to a press release, Julie Dvorak of Tetonia and Sandra Dickson of Driggs were injured in the crash. The four other people involved were not injured.

Idaho State Police is investigating the accident.
