POCATELLO - The former Inkom resident charged with 13 misdemeanor counts of animal neglect plead not guilty Thursday.

52-year-old Robert Ives is accused of abandoning a dozen dogs back in December.

Sheriff's deputies found the animals when a neighbor became concerned they hadn't seen anyone near the house for a few weeks.

By the time the dogs were recovered at least three had been eaten by the others.

Ives will be back in court for a pre-trial conference on March 19th.
