POCATELLO - A local man is the owner of a brand new truck after taking first place at the national Young Farmers and Ranchers discussion meet.

James Williams of Ucon was presented with a 2500 Dodge Ram pick-up at the Pocatello Holiday Inn today.

Williams had to lead a group discussion about four agricultural topics including how to improve infrastructure. Williams said, "As exciting as it was to win a pick-up, I think it was a little more exciting to be able to go and represent the state of Idaho. that became a great privilege, and you felt a lot of support from people back in the state of Idaho."

Besides farm work Williams also teaches at the Sugar City seminary and BYU-I institute.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
