IDAHO FALLS - Is one of your New Year's resolutions to lose some weight?

How would you like to melt the fat and make money while doing so?!

The Idaho Falls Weigh Loss Challenge begins Monday. Each participant will have a personal wellness coach and you'll learn how to take the weight off in a healthy way.

The $35 entry fee will be put in the prize pot. Whoever loses the most weight, wins the money.

"We usually have between 30 and 40 participants, so that's 12 hundred dollars that's dispersed. So it's a good way to pay off those bills and slim down," says Deon Brady, a Personal Wellness Coach.

If you're interested, stop by the Activity Center at 1575 N Skyline, in Idaho Falls, Monday evening at 6:30. The program lasts for 6 weeks.

Since state law requires a balanced state budget, Gov. Otter is concerned that falling tax revenue might force the state to make much deeper cuts than currently planned. What do you think about the Idaho law requiring a balanced budget?

  • It seemed like a good idea at the time, but these are unusual times. How much more can we cut out of education, etc.? We need to revisit the balanced budget law.
  • If more education funding and state services need to be cut, so be it. Sometimes it's painful to live within a budget, but it's the right thing to do.
  • Not sure.
