Dozens of quakes shake YellowstoneBy Todd Kunz
YELLOWSTONE NAT'L PARK, WY - Scientists are closely monitoring more than 250 small earthquakes that have happened in Yellowstone National Park just since Friday.
Swarms of small earthquakes happen frequently in Yellowstone. But scientists say it's very unusual for so many earthquakes to happen over just a few days. The largest tremor happened Saturday and measured magnitude 3.8. The quakes continued Sunday and Monday, including a magnitude 3.3 quake shortly after noon Monday. Seismologists do not know what may be causing the cluster of tremors. |
