IDAHO FALLS - Last year, more than 6,000 kids across North America performed with Moscow Ballet as part of its educational outreach campaign. This year the tour held auditions in Eastern Idaho and selected 150 local dancers to perform in the big ballet.

The show is only one night, but the preparation and timing takes months and a lot of dedication.

"Just remembering all your technique at the same time and remembering the dance," says Kallie Staker.

"We've been practicing every day except Sunday for the past few months," says Sarah Lenon.

"Five, six, seven, eight..."

The Moscow Ballet continues its commitment to making a difference in the arts. These ballet dancers from Eastern Idaho will be among the few to dance in the real Russian Nutcracker.

"We always love our kids to have the opportunity to see professional dancers and it gives them motivation and it's something to look up to and to look forward to. It's a quality of ballet that's really beneficial for them to see," says Jennifer Jones, instructor for the Idaho Ballet Theater.

For these young girls dancing with professionals is truly an honor, but even becoming one is an even bigger dream.

"I was kind of brought up with ballet and it's kind of fun and I think it's something I'd like to do for my whole life," says Abbey Jensen.

The show is less than a week away, and they're confident they'll be ready.

"I think I can after some more rehearsing and more practicing. I think we'll be able to get it very good," says Kallie.

The Great Russian Nutcracker will be performed Next Monday in the Colonial theater in Idaho Falls at 7:30.
