Man sentenced for having lewd conduct with 13-year-old babysitter

30-year-old Thomas Pedersen admitted to having lewd and lacivious conduct with a 13-year-old girl who babysat Pedersen's children.

REXBURG - A Rexburg man who had sexual relations with a teenage babysitter is sentenced.

30-year-old Thomas Pedersen was charged with having lewd and lascivious conduct with a 13-year-old girl who babysat his children.

Pedersen received a five to fifteen year prison sentence but Judge Brent Moss retained jurisdiction in the case.

That means Pedersen will go to Cottonwood for six months and if he passes the program, he will most likely serve the rest of his sentence on probation.
