Woman arrested for robbing Zions Bank
By Jennifer McGraw
IDAHO FALLS - Twenty-one year old, Rachel Laneice Williamson, has been arrested for robbing the Zions bank on Sunnyside and Hitt, in Ammon.
An eyewitness said she walked into Zions bank, handed the teller a note demanding money, and saying she had a weapon. They gave her the money and she took off. But someone was able to get her license plate number and give it to police. "With her state of mind, they know we are out looking for her anything can happen so we are considering her armed and dangerous," says Doug Metcalf, of the Bonneville Sheriff's office, early today. Within just three hours police found the suspect and arrested her on 19Th Street in Idaho Falls. The vehicle that you were looking for all day, has that been found? Was that her vehicle? I asked Metcalf. "We have located the vehicle matching the description from the bank and it does belong to her," he said. The suspects vehicle is registered to this house on Wilson Street in Ammon and was swarmed earlier by police. "These here are really good people. They went right over there to that house and went right in there," says Richard Espinosa, neighbor on Wilson Street. Police said after she robbed the bank she went home here and dropped off her car. Then later she was found driving with a friend and that's when she was arrested. "Right now we're collecting evidence, doing interviews and making sure we get everything set up that we need to for reports," says Metcalf. Police are still waiting on a search warrant to look for the money. If you have any information you are urged to call the Bonneville Sheriff's office at 529-1200. |
