Wanted felon busted while tailgating police officer

REXBURG - A convicted felon wanted in two states is behind bars in Madison County.

Officers stopped 30-year-old Richard Cowgill for tailgating a police car over the weekend.

When they searched his car, they found drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Police also did a background check and discovered felony warrants out for Cowgill's arrest in Wisconsin and Georgia.

He has an extensive criminal history including delivering drugs, armed robbery, assault, and driving on a suspended license.

Cowgill will be extradited back to Georgia or Wisconsin pending the charges he faces here in Idaho.
