SUGAR CITY - A Sugar City woman accused of starting a house on fire pleaded guilty in court Monday.

22-year-old Danielle Peters lived in an apartment above the house.

Monday in court Peters said she started the fire because her husband is out of work and she was stressed.

Peters attorney asked Judge Brent Moss to release her from jail on her own recognizance but Moss denied the request. Peters will remain in the Madison County jail on 25 thousand dollars bond.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
