Only on 3: Parade of Homes Features First Planned Community
By Anthony Congi
IDAHO FALLS - Shawn Wellington, the managing developer for Wellington Signature Homes is bringing a style he developed in central Oregon to this year's parade of homes.
There are several different floor plans, but the neighborhood, as a whole, will be fairly uniform. When a buyer purchases one of the lots, they'll be fully involved in the customizing process which includes selections of floor plans, types of woods, colors and landscaping. After buying one of the homes at it's base price, homeowners get an 18-page upgrade sheet to make their changes. "And they can go through, it's already priced and they just customize their own home. if they want to put accent walls in or they want to put hard wood in or granite counter tops, we can do all that," says Wellington. During the parade, Shawn will showcase this home; which shows possible upgrades. One of the upgrades is opening up the basement. This display shows multiple uses such as a kids area, office space and home theater center. "We can do pre-wire for all that. we can go full blown audio. we can do whatever you need to do for that and it'll priced on the upgrades accordingly," says Wellington. Shawn is also putting more value into the homes with little details such as better lighting fixtures. Plus, all the plumbing fixtures and door knobs are designed for higher price point homes which also add value. And talk about details, how about an i-Pod docking station right in your own home? Nothing says home sweet home like Bon Jovi. The base price of one of these homes start in the upper 180's for a 1,366 square foot home. the biggest homes in the neighborhoods will be 1,847 square feet. There are 53 total lots in the planned community. 5 are up and running, 6 more will have framing done by October for speculative building. More are planned to be built after the parade.
