Jehovah's Witnesses Expand in I.F. With New Kingdom Hall

By Hasti Taghi

IDAHO FALLS -Iit's like extreme makeover church edition. But in this build...the most important thing is not the building but the lessons taught inside.

"This is not just a building...it is a kingdom hall for us to worship our heavenly father Jehovah," says George Machugo, a member.

It all begin early Thursday when almost 500 volunteers joined in to make this 3-day build a possibility. The goal... Have the hall ready for the Sunday meeting at 10-a-m.
Although there is still work to be done... The inside of this Kingdom Hall in Ammon is ready for service. And at 10 o'clock...Hundreds of volunteers piled into the church that seats about 150. It began as many church services do... with song... Prayer and a message for the day.

"It was all for him and now we can get back to our preaching work," says Ashley Riblett, Volunteer.

The 3-day builds have become a tradition for the Jehovah's Witnesses... Dating back almost 30 years.

"Every time we do this there's greater appreciation that there is unity within the organization and harmony," says Joseph Davis, volunteer.

This Kingdom Hall will be the 2nd in the Idaho Falls area. The need for a new hall came from a growing interest in Jehovah's Witnesses.

"the building is not the primary concern it's the people that will attend and what they will accomplish inside," says Davis.

Volunteers will put the finishing touches to the church and hope to have it complete by the end of day 4.
