Eastern Idaho Democrats Are in Full Swing
By Jennifer McGraw
IDAHO FALLS- The democratic Party is gearing up for this year's election and they think they know what Idahoans want.
"I think people are ready for a change and we're just out there saying what the change is and we're hoping to make a difference for Idaho," said Jerry Shively, Democratic Candidate for District 33. This year's election may be one of the closest races between democrats and republicans Idaho has seen in a long time. "I'm really excited about this election I think it's going to be our best opportunity to elect democrats in Idaho falls and Bonneville county in decades," Steven Zeman, Democrat Chairman of Bonneville County. With just two months left for campaigning, candidates like McGimpsy and Shively are doing everything it takes to let Idahoans know they have what it takes. "In order to represent Idaho falls people should know what people in Idaho falls need," John McGimpsy, Democratic Candidate for District 33. Traditionally Idaho is known for voting Republican, but this year may prove to be different according to the other side of the aisle. "I think there does need to be a change and people who say that we should just keep going the way we're going really don't have a good idea of what has changed in Idaho," said McGimpsy. "I think republicans have had a chance to govern and to legislate and haven't really been representing the people," said Zeman. |
