Drive By Shooting In Idaho Falls

By Anthony Congi

IDAHO FALLS - Seventeen-year old Robbie McCormick and a friend were at his home on east Sunnyside Road late Saturday night when he heard a very loud noise.

Robbie McCormick, Drive By Victim: "We heard these four loud bangs and all three of us in my bedroom just assumed it was firecrackers, maybe m-80s or something."

He didn't think too much of it, until his mom came in his room and said their laundry room window was shot at.

Rushing outside, Robbie saw the large hole. He also found his friend's car had two windows shot through as well.

The Bonneville County Sheriff's Office says they currently have no leads or suspects and the family can't figure out why anyone would shoot at them.

McCormick: "I'm sure I've angered a couple people throughout my life, but I don't think I (expletive) them off enough to have them shoot at me."

They are also not sure if it was in fact a drive-by or someone on foot with the trajectory of the bullet being as low as it was. Police also do not have any descriptions of a possible vehicle.

Luckily no one was injured in the shooting but Robbie says his mom, however, was getting ready to go down and do a load of laundry just before the shots were fired.

The family of three is still very shaken up. They're hoping that this was an isolated incident, but the possibility of the house being a target has them fearful.

McCormick "We've all been really freaked out that like, what if it wasn't just some random kid, what if it was on purpose and what if they come back and do it again?"

This shooting is still under investigation and police need your help. If you have any information, call the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office at (208) 529-1200.
