A Teton County Idaho neighborhood is shaken up after a teenager allegedly threatened a kid and said he wants to kill him.

It all happened Thursday in front of a group of elementary school students in the quiet Creekside Meadows neighborhood near Driggs.

While elementary school students were getting on and off the school bus, some older teenagers in a pick up truck pulled up and started yelling at a younger child.

Dep. Fred Hale, Teton Co. Sheriff's Office: "Threats were made. There was allegedly a weapon in the vehicle."

Tom Bivins, Concerned Father: "They were calling them names and using foul language."

The younger child was able to get away from the pick-up truck and no one was ever hurt. But parents are still concerned. They say they heard about the incident from their own children and no one from the sheriff's office ever contacted them.

Bivins: "I wish someone would have called me and I wish the police could have done something. I just felt that nobody was giving me answers so I called you."

Hale: "It's understandable. We're all concerned about our children."

The sheriff's office says it has been actively working on the case but the incident happened in the morning and wasn't reported until the afternoon so they've been trying to catch up on everything.

Hale: "We didn't hear about it until the afternoon and we were all our on other cases. Other various 911 complaints were coming in."

Friday extra security was in place at the bus stop where the incident happened. Deputies spent most the day interviewing suspects, witnesses, and parents. The teenager who made the threats will most likely be charged with felony assault.

Nate Eaton, Channel 3: "Do parents need to be worried tonight?"

Hale: "I don't think so. I think they're safe."

Those in this neighborhood can only hope so.

Bivins: "Probably a little traumatic for the kids."

Not all parents are upset with the sheriff's office. One lady called Channel 3 and said she believes deputies are working hard.

Three juveniles were in the pick-up truck but only one will most likely face charges.
