Only on 3: 77 Year Old Couple Wed in Idaho Falls

By Anthony Congi

It's cliche but so true, love is hard to find. For some, it takes almost their whole lives to find true happiness. This is the case for two people who found each other in their golden years.
It started like so many weddings, the church organists playing the familiar songs, the guests arrive and the candles lit. But then the groom comes down the aisle and you realize this was not your typical wedding.
77-year old Richard Greenhalgh stood at the alter and anxiously awaited his bride to be, also 77 year-old Jean stoker. She was escorted down the aisle by her son.
You could see the love in richards eyes as he immidiately started crying.
Richard Greenhalgh, Groom: "Just an emotional guy I guess."
Jean Stoker-Greenhalgh, Bride: "You're a softee."
Greenhalgh: "I knew when I saw her I'd bawl. She was so lovely, when I first saw her walking in the back, I just couldn't help it".
The newly weds, both previously married, met at the Lincoln Court assisted living center two years ago. Richard had lost his wife and Jean had recently suffered from a stroke. But Richard says he was smitten from the first time he saw her.
Greenhalgh: "All at once she came into Licoln Court and I fell in love with her almost right immediately."
The couple, will continue to live at Lincoln Court. Richard will move into Jean's 2 bedroom apartment. Both say they could'nt be more fortunate and hope the marriage means a more prosperous life.
Stoker-Greenhalgh: "I think once you get married, maybe you're happier and you live longer, I think."
Greenhalgh: "I know I'm happier than I've ever been."
Both say today marks the first day of their new lives and look forward to what lies ahead.
Stoker-Greenhalgh: "It's wonderful, and we're just very grateful we found each other."
Greenhalgh: "Yes we are."
Truly, a modern fairytale. They won't be going on an extravagent honeymoon but say they plan on spending a few days together here locally. Congratulations to them.
