Robo Challenge
By Danielle Leigh
A robotics competition in Ammon is giving elementary and middle school aged kids an answer to the age old question, "When am I ever going to use this again?"
Kids from around the region gathered inside Hillcrest High School's gymnasium for today's "15Th Annual Robo Challenge." The event features a variety of competitions, such as a robo-sumo wrestling match. "It teaches kids how to work in teams to solve problems and those work regardless of what the field of study is, but most of all I feel like it's helping us in the math, science areas," says Organizer Richard Anderson. The winners of each competition take away trophies. The teams practice after school, and spend the entire year getting ready for today's event. |
