New Plans for Fort Hall Casino Resort

By Hasti Taghi

You're not looking at plans for the latest Las Vegas casino resort...it is actually one that will be coming right here to southeast Idaho.
The Shoshone-Bannock tribes have announced plans for this 80-acre casino resort complete with a water park...golf course...restaurants...event center and 200-room hotel.
There are also plans for another satellite-gaming operation... all to be built on Fort Hall.

"this is a plan that has been in the works for some time now."

This summer the tribes will break ground on the first of these projects...the satellite casino on interstate 15 at exit 89.
The projected start date on the 80-to-90-million-dollar resort project is 2009 with the water park and golf course scheduled to begin construction the following year. each of these projects is expected to take about 14 months to complete.

"This will not only benefit the tribes but help the whole community."

The benefit to fort hall will be anywhere between 3-to-5-hundred new employees to run these operations once complete as well as construction jobs for the building phase.

The tribe also announced that they have invested 5-million dollars in a Las Vegas casino but they had no further details for us.

"this is about the future."

...And that future is bound to be a lucky one for visitors.
