Today we start a new week-long series called "Does it Work?" Our first product- Zorbeez.
"I've tried 'As Seen on TV' stuff. Some things work. Some things don't," says Jennie Jenkins.
With 3 kids, Jennie Jenkins is always looking for ways to make life a little easier. So we decided to try about something for those everyday messes.. Zorbeez.
"We have spills at dinner. Milk, water, and Kool-Aid," says Jennie.
It claims to be 27 times stronger than paper towels.
"I'm a little skeptical," says Jenny.
To make it fair, we copied the experiments in the informercial.
First, the carpet test. We poured cola on the rug and had the kids clean it up.
"Wow! Pretty good," says Jenny.
Zorbeez picked up most of the cola, but all of the milk.
"I'm impressed," says Jenny.
Next up, can one towel completely soak up to 20 ounces of liquid?
Mom will use Zorbeez, her daughter will use a plain towel.
"Just lift it up. Wow! Well, it's better than cotton," says Jenny.
The Zorbeez did exactly what the informercial said it would.
"That's great.. It's not dripping," says Jenny.
Lastly, we spilled some more liquids on the table, with positive results.
"Ooh! Check that out," says Jenny.
After our experiments, I told Jennie how much I spent for Zorbeez.
"Do you think $14.99 is worth it for 10 towels," asks Tommy Noel.
"Sure. Yeah," says Jenny.
All this week, we'll be using a Spud-O-Meter to judge the As Seen on TV Products. On a scale of 1 to 5 spuds, with 5 being the highest..
"I'll give them a 4 ½," says Jenny.
On Tuesday, we'll test Tater Mitts. They promise to peel a potato in 8 seconds. That's Tuesday at 5pm and 10pm on Channel 3 Eyewitness News.
