By Sarah Schwabe

Devastation strikes one local family this Christmas, as they watch their house go up in smoke.

Fire crews responded to a house fire in Arimo this afternoon. Flames ripped through the attic, as firefighters tried to get a handle on the blaze. Fortunately no one was home when the blaze ignited.

Homeowners were able to retrieve some personal items from the burning building, including some clothes and guns.

And even though it is a huge loss, homeowners say they won't let the blaze spoil their Christmas.

No word yet on what started that fire.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
