D93 Gets Emergency Alert System

D93 Gets Emergency Alert System

By Danielle Leigh

Mass emergency alerts will soon be just a text message away for the Bonneville School District.

It's is the first in the state to adopt a mass texting system for alerts.
District 93 is teaming up with locally based Txt Wire Communications.

"Typically that message is then sent to whoever is on the list to whoever subscribed to that particular group and it could be thousands of people and it will take 10-15 seconds," says TXTWire President Creg Fielding.

The district will use the system to let parents, teachers and students know about school closures, emergencies and upcoming events.

Anyone can subscribe to the system at no cost.

Other locals districts are expected to adopt the system soon
