The presents have all been opened and the Christmas season is about to come to a close.

But one Idaho Falls native will hold on to that spirit for as long as possible.

"I adore Christmas. I love the lights and the magic and the wonder of it all," says Judy Infanger.

So much so, Judy Infanger has turned her home into a magical place, with dozens of Christmas trees.

"This is the most trees I've had. I have 82 1/2 trees," says Judy.

In case you're wondering, the half tree was a tree Judy found that was cut in half.

She starts decorating at the End of September. And on a budget. Most items come from dollar or thrift stores.

"I have taken little pieces of scraps of material and lace and little flowers. Things I find in the dollar store and will adapt them and put them together. It's amazing what you can come up with," says Judy.

Each tree has a theme.. A Patriotic tree.. A Bubble Gum Tree.. even a Bah Humbug Tree.

"Every tree is my favorite," says Judy.

Her husband is amazed at what she can accomplish each year.

"I admire her for her having the patience and the design and the artistry and creativity to do all of this," says Tom Infanger.

The lights from the 82 and a half trees made me a little curious about the power bill.

"I just pay the bill. I don't really look at it. I'm afraid it will freak me out," says Tom.

And as for next Christmas..

"I would like to see if I could get a hundred," says Judy.

Idaho law allows state agencies to divert some state income tax refunds to pay legal obligations like court fees, child support, and sheriff's garnishments. Taxpayers whose refunds have been diverted have no legal recourse. What do you think of the law?

  • Times are tight. If the state needs the money, this approach is better than budget cuts, tax hikes, etc.
  • I'm entitled to the refund, and the state can just take it? Unfair and ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
