If the shoe fits, sell it. That's the motto of Ben Rutter.

The Rexburg resident drove across the country to open Ben's Name Brand Shoes.

"We just want to provide a need that Rexburg has needed for about 15 years," says Ben Rutter.

Ben got the idea from a friend, Rendel Wilkinson .

"...who had a 30 page business plan, everything set up to go. He could have snapped his fingers and made it happen," says Ben.

Sadly, shortly after than plan, he was diagnosed with brain cancer.

"He mentioned he was planning on a shoe store. And I would have never thought of it. Never thought of coming across the U.S. to open a shoe store in Rexburg," says Ben.

Ben put his best foot forward and dedicated the store in Rendel's honor.

I stopped by the shoe store before they opened, so Ben's kids modeled off some of the shoes.. But I think Jarom was more tied up in being on TV.

Ben's Dad owned four businesses and got the inspiration from him.

"He's really set the examples and always supported me, showed me what to do," says Ben.

And as of right now, he's selling a lot of 'soles.'

"We did really good opening sales. And now students are back, it's getting even better," says Ben.

I'd say the family is pretty pumped up.
