Trudy Harris really does have a story.

In fact, she has 7, with two on the way.

This children's author adds a touch of math to her books.

"When I went back to teaching school, I realized that there were books I really wanted to use in my classroom, and they weren't available," says Trudy Harris.

So Trudy started writing books she would use in a classroom.. And the rest is history.

This whole children's book thing has become a family affair. Trudy's husband took a shot at his own book.

"I watched my wife write, and it looked like so much fun to be involved in publication," says Jay Harris.

Jay learned it's not an easy process getting published, but lucked out with "The Moon is La Luna."

Now when a author writes a book, they usually never meet the illustrator. But not in this family. Trudy had the rare instance of having her son illustrate "20 Hungry Piggies."

"To be able to work with someone who you know and someone you're related to, it's wonderful," says Andrew Harris.

Trudy teaches kindergarden and stressess the importance of reading to your child before they start school.

"The children that I see whose parents have been reading to them, pick up reading so much faster," says Trudy.

The three Harris's aren't done yet, they still have their own personal projects, but with the same goal of showing people the importance of reading.
