I think I found the best kept secret in Rigby. Beautiful trees.. Quiet.. and another great edition of Everybody has a Story.

Born in Ohio, Nancy Hooker came to Idaho because of the Site, but stuck around because of...

"Fly fishing. We're 20 minutes from Heise Snake River and we're about 4 minutes from Lorenzo Bridge," says Nancy Hooker.

Nancy fishes.. Plays tennis..

"...that keeps me from rusting," says Nancy.

But her big passion is painting. Nancy's mother first realized this at a parent teacher conference.

"I think it was 1st grade. And the teacher said, 'Nancy did this, Nancy did that.' She decided well I think I might have myself an artist," says Nancy.

And she did. Nancy studied art ever since. She likes to change specialties though.

"I get bored. I have to go from one medium to another," says Nancy.

Nancy's won several awards and received several recognitions. Her most important award was for a horse painting at the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho.

"It's a pastel. It was picked by adults and children as the best piece that year," says Nancy.

When Nancy's not painting, she's taking a break with her animals, including Missy, her horse.

"She just needs to be the center of attention," says Nancy.

And as for the future..

"If I could be successful as an artist, that would be awesome," says Nancy.

Maybe some day we'll see Nancy's paintings next to the Mona Lisa at the Louvre.
